In 1938, Dutch wholesaler Cornelis van de Rip had a revolutionary idea.
Frustrated by the constant problem of shoe soles coming off, he sought to
create an adhesive that would solve this problem once and for all. Taking
inspiration from natural rubber, he developed an adhesive that exceeded all
expectations - Perfecta Supra.
The success of Perfecta Supra was immediate and undeniable. Van de Ripe was
determined to build a company around this revolutionary adhesive. Thus,
Vereenigde Chemische Bedrijven Perfecta - Handelsonderneming Corn. V.d. Reepe
& Zoon” was born, although it was usually referred to as ‘Perfecta’ for
short.
